Neuromodulation Program
Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare’s Neuromodulation Program offers a stepped treatment model for patients experiencing a range of serious mental illnesses and who do not necessarily respond to medication or psychotherapy.
The Neuromodulation Program offers two treatment options to meet the unique needs of each patient:
Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS)
Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) is an effective treatment option for patients living with Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD).
rTMS utilizes a state-of-the-art device that offers a safe, effective, and non-invasive form of magnetic pulses to stimulate targeted areas of the brain. Treatment does not require anesthesia, medical accompaniment, or result in lost productivity hours post-procedure.
Electroconvulsive Therapy Clinic (ECT)
HDGH’s Electroconvulsive Therapy Clinic (ECT) is a safe, painless and effective therapy for a number of psychiatric conditions. ECT has a successful history as an effective treatment option for patients diagnosed with a range of serious mental illnesses and who do not necessarily respond to pharmacotherapy or psychotherapy. It has also been proven to deliver a higher response rate, making the treatment even more viable for patients with severe depressive illness.
Referral Form
Referrals to HDGH’s Neuromodulation Program for rTMS or ECT treatments must be made by a physician, nurse practitioner, or psychiatrist. One Referral Form is available for both treatment options.
